The best Fish and Chips you will find in NE Bristol, and certainly a contender for the best fish and chips in the entire Bristol area.
If you are local, you have no excuses - you MUST give this place a go.
Friends who consider themselves to be fish and chip connoisseurs rate this place highly, putting it a close second to the well renowned Papa's in Weston Super Mare.
Whenever I have visited, the fish has always been cooked fresh to order.
The haddock and cod are chunky, generously sized portions that flake beautifully. The fish is moist, sweet, and has a great texture. The batter is golden and perfectly crisp, none of that soggy nonsense.
Whenever I find myself being good, and going to a circuits or exercise class in this area, it will always pop into the English Takeaway on the way home to grab dinner. In fact, I think I end up going to more classes because of the promise of a takeaway from this place after. It is SO worth it.
Give it a go, you won't regret it.
